Killen's Restaurant Group marked the opening of its second restaurant in The Woodlands area with the launch of a new Killen's Barbecue location in Shenandoah on Jan. 16. Established in 2013, Killen's BBQ marked a return to one of Ronnie Killen's first loves. It was born out of a desire to retain the heart and soul of the old school BBQ cook offs of his youth while bringing a Le Cordon Bleu trained eye to the medium. Killen's BBQ plate: I asked for fatty brisket and it was some what fatty, but I was given the end pieces and some of the brisket looked shredded and dry. The sausage is handmade and it was a tad gamy.

I do enjoy Killen's once in a while, but I won't be talking about the meat today since I cannot appreciate it enough. It's just fine to me, n I do like their bbq sauce. I love their bread pudding!!!

Maybe not the best in the US, but it is up there. Brisket was what I came for. Very good. A little fatty and soft, but great bark.
